Frequently asked

Honest answers to honest questions.

Is Chase The Dollar financial advice?

No. Everything on this site is general education and information. Personal finance decisions depend on your situation - tax bracket, time horizon, risk tolerance, dependents, debts, and a hundred other variables. For specific decisions, work with a fee-only fiduciary financial planner, a CPA, or a credit counselor as appropriate.

How are the articles researched?

We use primary sources whenever possible - IRS publications, FDIC and NCUA databases, FRED economic data, SEC filings, and the original product disclosures from banks and brokerages. We update articles when rules change, rates move, or new products launch.

Does Chase The Dollar make money from these guides?

Yes. The site is supported by display ads (Google AdSense) and a small number of affiliate relationships with banks and brokerages. We disclose this at the top of every article. Recommendations are based on product quality and reader fit, not commission size, and we link to plenty of products that pay us nothing.

How often are rates and data updated?

Active rate-sensitive guides (savings APYs, mortgage rates, credit-card APRs) are reviewed monthly. Strategy and concept guides (asset allocation, retirement planning) are reviewed quarterly or when underlying tax law changes.

Can I suggest a topic or correction?

Yes - use the contact form. We read everything and update articles when readers spot errors. We don't accept paid placements or 'free product reviews in exchange for coverage.'
